Events start at 7.30 pm with a talk by Jan Field, Chair of the Alresford Society. Her subject is the Arlebury estate in Alresford. Arlebury is the big Georgian house on the right as you drive down The Avenue towards Winchester. It was the ‘Big House’ in the town since the late 18th century. She also considers social and economic change affecting such country houses since then.

We then break for refreshments before a 10 minute talk from a group proposing to initiate a Ropley Historic Society. They will introduce the group, it’s aims and how it plans to move forward.

The AGM follows: AGM Agenda Thursday 11th April 2019_

Two extra items for you to consider:

  • Firstly the event is open to all.  Members are invited to bring along friends and neighbours you think may be interested.
  • Secondly we invite anyone with a little free time to join us on the committee. A variety of posts are available, all enjoyable. Please let us know prior to the meeting if you wish to volunteer.
