Background: I manage a Befriending service for the Palliative Care team at Hampshire hospitals. The aim of the service is to provide some social companionship and support to those in the community, who have a life limiting or chronic illness and are lonely or isolated.
We have been running the service since 2015 and cover a wide area in and around Alton. We are currently finding that our referrals are coming in thick and fast and we do not have enough volunteers to meet current needs.
