Ropley’s current neighbourhood plan expires in September 2024, and we are looking for volunteers to help update it in line with East Hampshire District Council’s emerging new Local Plan.

Neighbourhood plans are community-led projects for guiding the future development, regeneration and conservation of an area. They have statutory authority, which means that local authorities and planning inspectors have to make decisions on the basis of the policies in the neighbourhood plan. Settlements that have a neighbourhood plan can directly influence how infrastructure funding is spent, benefiting from an increase to 25% (from 15%) of the Community Infrastructure Levy revenues from any relevant development that takes place in their area.
