Meet Your Parish Councillors
Our Role
Ropley Parish Council’s role is to serve the needs of residents in Ropley and Monkwood.
There are three tiers of local government with different responsibilities:
Tier 1 Ropley Parish Council
Tier 2 East Hampshire District Council
Tier 3 Hampshire County Council
Ropley Parish Council’s role is to:
- influence and shape the long-term development policy for the parish, and as part of the planning process, comment on planning applications in the parish
- aim to improve the quality of life and the environment in the local area
- work to identify issues which are important to the lives of the residents they represent
- work to bring about improvements through local projects, lobbying other service providers and working in partnership with other parishes and agencies.
Community Facilities
The Council owns:
- Ropley Parish Hall
- Ropley Sports Pavilion
- Ropley recreation ground (Recreation Ground Policy & Enquiry Form)
- Multi-use games area (MUGA)
- Ropley play park
- Village pond
