Your local heritage railway will be running its 29th Walk the Line event on Saturday 10th November.

We hold this event annually to help raise funds for the running of the railway and, this year, the monies raised will be put to the purchase of new ballast, an essential but unsung element of our track

We ask walkers to obtain sponsorship money either on-line or on the day. Walkers can start at any station and are taken back there by vintage bus from Alresford or Alton. The distance is 10 miles from Alton, 6 miles from Medstead and 3 miles from Ropley. All levels of ability are catered for so think of bringing children and dogs. There will be no trains running on the day!

Free refreshments are provided at every station and a signed certificate is issued to confirm you have walked the distance.

Walkers do not have to have sponsors but do have to pay a £10 Registration Fee.

Sponsorship can be done at any time so go to the Mid Hants Railway web site and click on Walk the Line event. Alternatively, pickup a sponsorship form at the Information Office in Alresford station.

You would be very welcome to join us on the day to see the railway from a different viewpoint. You would not be alone. Over 400 walkers took part last year.
