Hampshire County Council has appointed B&M McHugh Limited to carry out drainage improvement works on Gascoigne Lane. This will alleviate the current flooding issues along Gascoigne Lane and Gilbert Street. The improvements will include the installation of new gullies along Gascoigne Lane and a new soakaway at the junction of Gascoigne Lane, Court Lane, and Gilbert Street.
Works are due to start on 10 June for approximately three weeks and the permitted working hours will be between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
To maximise safety for road users and the operators, temporary three-way lights will be in place at the start of the works for up to two weeks at the junction of A31 / Gascoigne Lane. This will be followed by a ‘Give and Take’ arrangement along Gascoigne Lane at the junction of Gilbert Street / St. Andrew’s Lane.
Advanced warning signs will be in place two weeks prior to the works starting, and access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
Further information about the scheme together with any updates about the planned timescales or traffic management arrangements are available by accessing the County Council web pages at: https://www.hants.gov.uk/transport/transportschemes/gascoigne-lane-improvements
