Very sadly for Ropley our local Brownie Pack have ceased to operate in the village and have moved to Bishop’s Sutton where they have amalgamated with the Alresford group.

This really does mark the end of an era as the Brownies were the last surviving Ropley group of the uniformed organisations and their presence will be sorely missed.

Under a number of remarkable leaders including Grace Strong, Barbara Longlands, Zena Cass, Gina Rodgers, Jo Rodgers and lastly Suzan Yianni the Brownies have always been the reliable stalwarts at Village events, organising stalls and taking part in the Pram Race and Village Fetes, Singing Carols at the Victorian Christmas Market, arranging the Annual Tea Party and being a part of major Church services to name but a few and we, as a community owe a huge debt of gratitude to all those adults and girls who have been part of the amazing Ropley Brownie Pack over so many years.

We wish the current group well in their new home and thank them for the immense contribution that they have made to village life, we will certainly miss you.
