To everyone who booked the Coffee Room from January to March, pre-coronavirus. We had pleasure in seeing you enjoy Miss Hagen’s legacy.
To Sue Buckell who has made a such a good start managing the bookings and had a diary running at twice the level of last year prior to the lockdown.
To our enthusiastic committee who were planning a fundraising Jumble Sale until Covid-19 put a stop to it like everything else. To Helen who designed the attractive posters; Louise & Gordon who printed them so beautifully; Amy of WGM who laminated them and to Wendy & Tallulah who had collected jumble before the guillotine fell!
To Maurice & Jill who tend the flower beds outside the Coffee Room and to Martin for strimming the grass.
To Community Care for their kind donation of £1000 which kick-started our refurbishment fund and to the Ropley Society for their grant of £500 towards the cost of new fencing to be installed at the same time as the internal refurbishment.
To all the staff and volunteers in the Courtyard Shop for working so hard to provide for us all.
To the Ropley Society for keeping us all informed and connected with their emails.
And congratulations to the Parish Council for accomplishing a first virtual meeting on 10th June with a full agenda. Virtual attendance for parishoners from the comfort of an armchair at home has a lot to recommend it. It could catch on – I hope so.
