Webb Lane between the Petersfield Road and Parkstone Road is a popular route for local walkers, horse riders and cyclists. However only the first section of the path starting at the Petersfield Road is recorded as a public right of way.

An application was made by the British Horse Society in 2008, to record the whole of Webb Lane as a public right of way.

Hampshire County Council made a decision on 11 January 2024 that the application should be accepted. This means that, subject to no objections when the Order is advertised, the whole route from the Petersfield Road to Parkstone Road will be recorded as a restricted byway.

Any public motorised vehicular rights over the route have been extinguished by the provisions of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act, 2006.
