Dear Residents of Ropley,

Ropley Parish Hall has served as an important venue and meeting place for the Parish of Ropley. However, to ensure its continued operation and vitality, we need your help.

Owned by Ropley Parish Council and managed by a registered charity (No 301934), our Parish Hall is overseen by a dedicated team of trustees who serve on a small management committee. Together, we work to uphold the hall’s mission of providing a space for gatherings, events, and activities.

Yet, as with any community endeavour, we rely on the generosity and support of volunteers to keep the wheels turning. Currently, we face a pressing need for volunteers to assist with various aspects of the hall’s operations, including:

Hall Maintenance: Help ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations by performing tasks such as checking emergency lights, changing key safe combinations, managing waste disposal, and replenishing supplies.

Small Improvement Projects: Contribute your skills and expertise to enhance our facilities through projects like upgrading stage lighting, making our hall even more accommodating and versatile for a wide range of events.

Specialised Roles:

Booking Clerk: Manage our online booking system, answer enquiries from potential hirers, and occasionally give tours of the hall to interested parties. Additionally, remotely oversee the Hall’s heating system using the Google Nest system.

Webmaster: Maintain and update our Hall website using a simple content management system, ensuring that our online presence remains informative and engaging.

Treasurer: Provide oversight of all financial matters, including paying bills, invoicing hirers, and maintaining a simple cash account.

Chairperson: Chair the committee meetings and act as focal point for activities.

Without the active involvement of more members of our community, the future of Ropley Parish Hall is uncertain. We need your support to ensure that this community asset remains available to the village.

Your contribution as a volunteer will not only help sustain our Parish Hall but will also strengthen the fabric of our community and give you a sense of satisfaction in helping out.

Interested in volunteering?

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information about any of the roles mentioned above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at rph.bookings@gmail.com or contact Debbie Raynham on 01962 772253 or come along to the AGM on Tuesday 14th May at 8pm.

Together, let’s ensure that Ropley Parish Hall continues to serve as a beacon of community spirit and togetherness for all. Thank you for considering this call to action.
