At St Peter’s church, 5 of the 6 bells will be reinstalled in the bell tower from Tuesday 25th to Thursday 27th February. If you want to experience the hoisting of the bells you are most welcome but please be aware that the area around the bell tower will be a “no-go” area.
The 6th Bell should be installed soon after, following it being re-cast in Italy.
Once the bells are installed, it will require further work before they can be rung. But, with a generous grant from the National Heritage Lottery plus grants from other donors, the last piece of the church’s restoration is finally taking place.
