Societies
Friends of St Peter’s
Set up to help the PCC raise funds for major repairs to the church.
A small but friendly group, we meet a few times a year for fund raising events, including wine tastings, the Soup & Pudding Lunches, garden openings and talks. Since being formed in 1982, we have raised over £250,000 for repairs to the church.
The Ropley Fayre Committee has existed in the village for many years and exists to promote a sense of community within the parish of Ropley by organising inclusive community events such as the Christmas Market and one off National celebrations such as occurred in 2025 for the 80th anniversary of VE Day and the King’s coronation in 2023.
Membership is open to anyone who is over 18 and is a resident of Ropley and the surrounding area. If you would like to join us, attend our AGM or offer support at our events please contact us on either membership.ropley.fayre@gmail.com or secretary.ropley.fayre@gmail.com

Exploring Researching Sharing
The group is open to all with an interest in the history of the village and surrounding area.
We run fortnightly working groups for volunteers helping to populate the website and digital archive, you can find the dates for these in our Latest News section here – https://www.ropleyhistory.org.uk/category/news. We can provide training, and can provide training in digitising, archiving and cataloguing for those interested in gaining new skills. Involvement and contributions are on an informal and voluntary basis, with individuals meeting to share and discuss areas of interests and their own research projects. If you would like to join us, contribute documents or any information about Ropley and the surrounding area, take part in an oral history recording or start/take part in a history project, please do get in touch.
